Soil Health & Productivity

Optimising Soil Health & Productivity in the Murraylands and Riverland Region

Key objectives

Develop four demonstration sites within the Murraylands and Riverland region with a focus on improved vulnerable soils management options (i.e. sand hill stabilisation).

Improvement of the AgriSolve variable rate agronomic platform.

Development of a lentil decision support tool.

Workshops, mentoring and support to 65 growers throughout the life of the project.

About the project

This project supports Mallee farmers to better manage risk in highly variable seasonal conditions. It combines advanced decision-making tools, technical support, and on-ground demonstration trials to help farmers make more informed, confident decisions.

By improving access to practical data and insights, the project encourages on-farm benchmarking to better understand land system potential across different seasons. It also promotes self-benchmarking as a way for farmers to track performance and adapt their management strategies over time.

Demonstration trials, technical services, decision support tools, and knowledge-sharing events will showcase emerging practices and innovative approaches, helping drive the adoption of more resilient and productive farming systems across the region.

The aim of this project

Improving the ability of Mallee farmers to better manage farming risk across variable annual conditions, through the adoption and use of advanced decision-making platforms, technical support and demonstration trials.

AgriSolve website

AgriSolve is a practical, farmer-friendly platform that brings precision agriculture tools into one easy-to-use place. It allows you to map your paddocks, create management zones based on your soil variability, and design test strips to trial Variable Rate Technology (VRT) on your farm.

Built with local conditions in mind, AgriSolve helps you better understand your soil zones and make more informed decisions around inputs like fertiliser. By simplifying the process of setting up and applying VRT, the platform gives you straightforward access to precision ag tools helping you test, learn and improve your paddock performance with confidence.
