MSF Karoonda Field Day

Beginning at 9:00 am at the GRDC Sandy Soils site north west of Karoonda with Nigel Wilhelm, SARDI

At 10am we are meeting at the Karoonda Footy Club for the following topics:
• Weather forecasting with Anthony Violi, AV Weather
• Pulse disease management with Jenny Davidson, SARDI
• Pest management update with Greg Baker, SARDI

Followed by spit roast lunch at the Footy Club Sponsored by WD Lewis – RSVP is essential for catering

Refreshments throughout the day sponsored by Platinum Ag

At 2:00 pm after lunch we will be heading out to the MSF Trial Site at Peter and Hannah Loller’s for a walk around the trials.

• Nitrogen and zinc nutrition on sandy soils – Rick Llewelyn & Bill Davoren, CSIRO
• Canola nutrition management
• Legume varieties demo & EverCrop perennial site
• Sowing strategies – on/ off-row in Non-wetting sands & fertilizer toxicity
• Stubble trial final take home messages and Endophytes trial (inoculated wheat for growth promotion and drought resistance) – Gupta, CSIRO
• BASF polymers trial
