The Area Wide Weed Management project is holding a short crop walk to look at the results of summer herbicide trials at Yatpool, Friday 8th of January.
The herbicide trials have been established next door to a citrus orchard to demonstrate safe spraying techniques when targeting summer weeds such as fleabane and thistles.
Three trials have been established:
- optical sprayer demo
- demonstration of new herbicides registered for use in optical sprayers
- impact of time of day on spray efficacy, changing water rates and droplet size
