Mallee farmers want to build their knowledge of alternatives to spray fallow as a way of controlling diseases and weeds. The key practice change will be that farmers use agronomic methods to control diseases and weeds rather than using mechanical methods or a bare fallow practice. The project aimed to build capacity and confidence of farmers to make decisions about crop sequencing through demonstrating and trialing varieties of crop which are new to the area.
